UPDATE: Pharmapod is LFPSE compliant. Learn more.
Pharmapod is supporting applicable United Kingdom pharmacies to be in compliance with the NHS Learn From Patient Safety Events (LFPSE) service.
Development is underway to ensure our Incident Management platform is LFPSE compatible. We expect to submit our request for NHS compliance by early fall.
The deadline for providers to ensure their incident reporting platform is LFPSE compatible is March 31, 2023.
For those pharmacies in Wales, we are looking into options for integration with the Once for Wales system.
What is LFPSE?
LFPSE is replacing the current National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) and Strategic Executive Information System (StEIS), to offer better support for staff from all health and care sectors.
LFPSE compliance will result in one national NHS system for the recording of patient safety events. The system will support better analysis of safety events, and use technology like machine learning to enhance insights and key learnings.
How will LFPSE impact patient safety?
LFPSE will reduce workloads around reporting safety events, with the incident only being reported once through Pharmapod.
LFPSE will also improve safety event recording across all healthcare settings, improve information collection, enable easier safety event data access, and support new technologies for more high-quality, timely data, analysis, and feedback generation.
More information on LFPSE is available on the NHS England website.
You can book a 1-on-1 demonstration to learn more about Pharmapod’s Incident Management tool.
