The Pharmapod Team attended the Bank of Ireland Start Up Awards 2014, last Thursday, October 23rd. We received two awards: Gold in Women in Business Startup of the Year and Silver in Innovative Startup of the Year.
Over 700 SME’s entered the competition and many were represented at the Awards Ceremony. All of these companies and individuals are a testament to the culture of innovation, and the high quality of startups, in Ireland. You can read more information on the Awards Night and all the Awards Categories on the Big Red Cloud Blog.
Pharmapod were honoured to be part of the night, and particularly to be so successful in such high quality categories.
The Women in Business Award is great recognition of the importance of gender diversity in startup teams. It is well recognised that gender diversity contributes to the success of startup companies, in terms of revenue, capital efficiency and return on investment. Ensuring that Irish business women realise their full business potential is critical to our economy. Our CEO Leonora, is a great ambassador for Women in Business and had just returned to Dublin in time for the Awards after delivering a key note address to over 300 women in Galway. The event was part of National Women’s Enterprise Day (NWED).
Pharmapod prides itself on being the definition of innovative, ‘something original, new & important in whatever field it breaks into, benefiting a market or society’. Original – because the cloud-based software Pharmapod has developed has never been created before. New – Pharmapod only launched to market 2 years ago, in December 2012 and is a High Potential Startup. Important – Nothing is more important than reducing unnecessary deaths and maximising patient safety across the healthcare system.
We were delighted when NDRC Launch Pad, where Pharmapod started out, won the AIS (Accelerator, Incubator, Support Agency) of the Year Award. The award is a great testament to the whole NDRC team of the work that they do. #Bestplacetostart.
