Our team at Pharmapod recently attended the 2016 Alphega Pharmacy U.K Conference. The conference is designed to help pharmacies grow their business by providing them with an opportunity to hear about new services and solutions, therefore it was a great opportunity for us to showcase our system. It also included an award ceremony to announce the regional pharmacy winners and overall national winners of the Alphega Pharmacy Awards.
A big congratulations is in order for William Llyr Hughes who runs Llanbedrog Pharmacy in Pwllheli, Gwynedd who received the 2016 Alphega Pharmacy National Award. Will is an avid user of our system and we contacted him in order to congratulate him on this incredible achievement and to find out how useful a tool our system is to the efficiency of his pharmacies.
Will informed us that it was a big surprise to have won the national award “We knew that we had been nominated by our Alphega mentor Donna O’Grady for the regional award, but we hadn’t considered the possibility of winning the national award.”. This award is a great achievement showing a dedication and passion for pharmacy.
The Fferyllwyr Llyn pharmacy recently opened in a second location, resulting in an increase in staff and need for increased management, which has been implemented outstandingly. Will discussed how he achieved this and highlighted the key considerations for this expansion, especially with the NHS cuts they had to reassess their business model and realized that in order to succeed increasing efficiency would be essential.
He emphasized how Pharmapod helped accomplishing their new “Increasing Efficiency” business model, “Pharmapod is an essential tool to achieving this efficiency; using the cloud based system results in ease of access to all files, with no more time wasted looking through folders and boxes.” He also discussed the advantages of the Pharmapod system across two locations, ‘The cloud based system means it can be accessible from all devices therefore when staff are working from both locations they can easily log in to the system and continue to log incidents.”
Pharmapod were delighted to speak with Will, and it was great to hear how his team had embraced our software in order to ensure efficiency across pharmacies. We would like to congratulate the pharmacy again on this incredible achievement!
